Heike Fleming

A painting by Heike Fleming — placeholder for an artist portrait.

Heike Fleming is a German-American painter and longtime art educator whose work explores the natural world — flowers, fruit, and quiet places along the water — in oils and watercolor.

[Placeholder bio.] Born in Germany and trained in both classical drawing and contemporary watercolor traditions, Heike has spent her career teaching art to public-school students in the United States. After many years in the classroom, she is retiring in 2026 to devote her time to her own studio practice.

[Placeholder bio.] Her recent work continues a long-standing interest in still life and botanical subjects, with newer pieces experimenting with watercolor on Japanese papers such as Jupo. Heike paints from her home studio and exhibits selected work here.
